Ben's London 10K run for The Upbeats
The programme requires £10,000 a year to continue running and is always in need of funding. RCS have pledged to raise £1,000 for The Upbeats by March 2014 and Ben took up the challenge to help with the fundraising drive.
Ben generated a sweepstake at Head Office where RCS colleagues had to guess the time in which he would complete the “race”, with the person guessing closest to his finish time winning a cash prize.
Ben finished the course in the fantastic time of 49 minutes 16 seconds on one of the hottest days of the year so far! A relative of Ben’s had the closest time and therefore won the sweepstake, however she kindly donated back her winnings, which meant that Ben raised £253.10 for The Upbeats. RCS congratulate Ben on a fantastic achievement and for raising money for such an important cause.
Ben said: "Thank you all very much for you generosity in sponsoring me to raise money for the Upbeats which is a very worthy charity."
